Bangladesh Journal of Educational Research

About the Journal

The Bangladesh Journal of Educational Research (BJER) is an open-access, peer-reviewed research journal published by the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. It provides a platform for researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners to contribute high-quality empirical and theoretical studies spanning various educational disciplines. BJER welcomes research exploring contemporary educational issues, methodologies, and policy discussions within Bangladesh and broader global contexts.

BJER seeks to encourage rigorous scholarship by publishing research that enhances understanding of educational theory, policy, and practice. While comparative studies are welcome, research focusing on specific cultural or institutional contexts is encouraged, provided it has broader implications.

Submission and Review Process

BJER accepts manuscripts in English. Submissions must follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition) and undergo a double-anonymised peer review process, ensuring impartial assessment by expert reviewers.

Manuscripts should be submitted in DOC or DOCX format and include:

  • An abstract of 100–150 words
  • A list of 3–5 keywords
  • A maximum length of 5,000 words (excluding tables and figures)

Tables, figures, and illustrations should be provided as separate files to ensure clarity in formatting.

Submissions should be sent via ier@ru.ac.bd.

Ethical Guidelines

BJER maintains strict ethical standards to ensure responsible research practices. Authors must certify that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and adheres to ethical research principles. Research involving human subjects must comply with recognised ethical protocols, including informed consent and confidentiality protections. Plagiarism, data manipulation, and any form of unethical conduct will result in immediate rejection.

Publication Format and Frequency

BJER publishes academic research articles, literature reviews, case studies, short communications, and book reviews. While the journal is committed to expanding its publication cycle, issues are currently released periodically, ensuring high editorial standards.

BJER is hosted on its official platform and on BanglaJOL, a dedicated platform for improving the visibility of Bangladeshi research journals. Published issues can be accessed from either location, ensuring broad academic accessibility.
