Message from Chairman
It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome you at the website of University of Rajshahi, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (VAS), the only specialized Department in Rajshahi Division of Bangladesh.
Its mission is to generate advance human, animal, and environmental health through pioneering research; prepare veterinary graduate and post graduate experts through innovative instruction as well as serve the university and society through participation in faculty governance, professional societies, and national committees.
It produces veterinarians, specialists and scientists of national and international standard through the study of field oriented time-benefitting world class curriculum including an internship program. In a general University, the only department that could direct relation with fields through its Veterinary indoors and outdoor services (RU Narikelbaria Veterinary Clinic, AI and Training centre), training and research projects by the expert academicians & researchers.
We are committed to build the next generation of researchers and widely participate in undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degree programs across campus. Our graduate program (DVM) has landed important positions in academia and industry of Livestock, poultry and pet animals.
By the supreme development of science and technology the world has become a global village with food and nutritional security and safety for one and all as the most important and burning issue. This calls for an urgent need for joint action towards meeting the ever pressing concern for hunger and health. Our unit has made a remarkable undertaking need based and applied research work over the years.
