RAJSHAHI – As a core component of the Social Work curriculum (SOW-125), BSS first-year students successfully completed a structured field visit to various government agencies in Paba Upazila. This practical exposure allowed students to bridge the gap between classroom theory and grassroots social administration.
Under the expert guidance of Professor Dr. Md. Fakrul Islam, Professor Dr. Sheikh Kabir Uddin Haider, and Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Mazumder, three student cohorts conducted intensive site visits to key departments, including:
    • Upazila Women Affairs Office
    • Upazila Rural Development Office
    • Upazila Social Service Office

The visit culminated in a high-level meeting with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Md. Ibnul Abedin. During an interactive orientation session at the UNO office, Mr. Abedin detailed the administrative functions of the local government and shared inspiring insights on student welfare and community leadership.
The program concluded with a formal reception, leaving students with a profound understanding of the public service mechanisms that drive social change in Bangladesh.
