Message from Chairman

The Department of Chemistry, University of Rajshahi, began its life in 1958. For these long years, the department has been catering to chemistry education at the honors and master’s degree levels and has, by this time, produced a large number of chemists for the nation. Each year the department also offers programs for M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees for a limited number of meritorious students in chemistry. Serious research in different areas of chemistry is going on in the department under the supervision of the qualified teachers. The department has equipped undergraduate laboratories, large research laboratories for each section, and a rich seminar library. The current faculty strength of the department is 38, of which 33 are professors, 1 is an associate professor, 2 are assistant professors, and 2 are lecturers. The teachers are all well-trained and equipped with a wealth of modern knowledge in chemistry. They are all committed to their noble profession. The department will highly welcome the Young Scholars of the country who are interested in chemistry.
