COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The aims of this course are to gather more knowledge regarding grammatical concepts, reading, writing and communication skills that are frequently used in the field of statistics. It also helps to create an open friendly classroom environment, to create something new ideas based on the acquired knowledge of skills; understand and apply the conventions of academic writing in English. Students can identify the pros and cons of the grammatical point of view and will be use the parts of speech analyze, which is measurable.
COURSE OBJECTIVES (CO):
This course will develop the students’ ability to
1)
interact with academic content: reading, writing, listening, speaking;
2)
demonstrate ability to think critically, utilize information and digital literacy skills;
3)
demonstrate behavior and attitudes appropriate to a university environment; make inferences and predictions based on comprehension of a text.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME (CLO):
After successful completion of this course, a student will be able to
1)
identify the main idea(s) in the text and infer meanings of unfamiliar words;
2)
produce academic vocabulary appropriately orally and in writing;
3)
summarize/paraphrase information in a text and focus the topic and apply research procedures;
4)
produce accurate grammatical forms; and give an oral presentation in class using effective delivery strategies.
