Welcome! Our office is glad to visit our website.

With the advent of the Department of Law and Land Administration in 2015, the Faculty of Law at the University of Rajshahi became a pioneer in Bangladesh for the new academic discipline emphasising land laws. The Department offers all the fundamental legal courses along with special courses related to land administration and management. The primary goal of the Department is to disseminate explored legal knowledge to young novices and train them to contribute to the diverse legal arena by honing their skills, especially in the land administration and management system of Bangladesh. It also aims to produce top-notch law graduates who will be academically equipped to offer their best in their career as Judges, Magistrates, Researchers, Civil/Criminal/Income-Tax lawyers.

The Department of Law and Land Administration offers both the Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Honours) and Master of Laws (LLM) programmes. Several types of research programmes, such as PhD and MPhil degrees, are actively promoted by the department as well. In addition, it intends to create an excellent research environment which will equip itself to supervise researchers who want to conduct effective research on any legal and land related issue. Moreover, the department facilitates a well-organised contemporary moot court to help students hone their trial advocacy and client counselling skills as well as a resourceful seminar library to quench the insatiable appetite for knowledge about diverse legal topics and information.

When students get admitted into LLB (Honours) programme, most of them leave their home for the first time and join a totally new environment. Teachers at this Department take special care of those newcomers in the class room, in small tutorial groups as well as on a one-to-one basis. Students get advice on their academic matters and they are also provided with counselling, where and if necessary. Frequent in-course examinations are taken by all course-teachers to ensure that students keep themselves updated in line with the topics taught in the class rooms. Teachers are committed to provide the learners with feedback on an individual basis after examining their in-course exam-scripts so that they can overcome their weaknesses in analysis of concerned issues, language and exam-preparation.

It is my pleasure to welcome you once again to the Department of Law and Land Administration and invite you to be a member of the Department which is committed for excellence in teaching, learning and research.
