LABORATORIES
The department maintains eight specialised laboratories that support undergraduate teaching, postgraduate research and collaborative projects across molecular biology, genetics, microbiology and biomedical science.

Our faculty and postgraduate researchers work across six interconnected domains, from fundamental molecular science to applied agricultural and biomedical biotechnology.
Molecular Biology
Exploring DNA, RNA, gene regulation and cellular mechanisms to understand life at the molecular level.
Genetic Engineering
Developing technologies for genome modification, recombinant DNA applications and genetic improvement.
Microbiology
Investigating microbial diversity, physiology and their applications in health, agriculture and the environment.
Bioinformatics
Applying computational tools and data-driven approaches to analyse genomic and biological datasets.
Plant Biology
Studying plant genetics, physiology and biotechnology to improve crop productivity and stress tolerance.
Biomedical Science
Investigating disease mechanisms, diagnostics and therapeutic approaches connecting molecular research to human health.

The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is a specialised academic department in the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Rajshahi.
