About Us

The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is a specialised academic department in the Faculty of Biological Sciences that focuses on the study and application of biotechnology. The department provides comprehensive education and research opportunities in molecular biology, genetic engineering, biotechnology, genomics, bioinformatics, microbiology, and biomedical sciences. The curriculum offers undergraduate (B.Sc.), graduate (M.S.) and PhD programs that are designed to prepare students for successful careers in research, academia, industry, and beyond.

Since its establishment, the department has been committed to nurturing skilled scientists, researchers, and future leaders who can contribute to addressing challenges in health, agriculture, industry, and environmental sustainability.
