Law & Land Administration
Welcome to the website of the Department of Law and Land Administration under the Faculty of Law at the University of Rajshahi.
The Faculty of Law at the University of Rajshahi pioneered in establishing a new discipline, namely Department of Law and Land Administration. This Department offers all core courses of Law. Additionally, it teaches specialised courses relating to Land Administration and Management. The Department aims to produce world-class law graduates who will be academically equipped to offer their best in their career as Judges, Magistrates, Civil/Criminal/Income-Tax lawyers. Moreover, they will have specialisation in Land Administration or Land Management, which will enable them to make contribution to sectors relating to land, its proper exploitation or sustainable use, policy making, coastal and ocean management and related issues.
The Department also aims to create an excellent research environment which will equip itself to supervise researchers who want to conduct effective research on any legal and land related issue.
When students get admitted into LLB (Honours) programme, most of them leave their home for the first time and join a totally new environment. Teachers at this Department take special care of those newcomers in the class room, in small tutorial groups as well as on a one-to-one basis. Students get advice on their academic matters and they are also provided with counselling, where and if necessary. Frequent in-course examinations are taken by all course-teachers to ensure that students keep themselves updated in line with the topics taught in the class rooms. Teachers are committed to provide the learners with feedback on an individual basis after examining their in-course exam-scripts so that they can overcome their weaknesses in analysis of concerned issues, language and exam-preparation.
It is my pleasure to welcome you once again to the Department of Law and Land Administration and invite you to be a member of the Department which is committed for excellence in teaching, learning and research.
