Message from chairman<\/span><\/h1>\n

As an academic discipline and profession, social work is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The Department of Social Work at the University of Rajshahi is committed to advancing knowledge and practices that improve the overall quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our department features a highly qualified faculty with specialized expertise in key areas, including social work and welfare, rural and community development, family and child welfare, gender and development, public health, mental health, crime and correctional services, climate change and adaptation, NGOs and human rights, social policy and administration, and psychiatric social work. We also focus on critical contemporary issues such as counseling, disaster management, gerontology (aging), and intimate partner violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

To prepare the next generation of skilled practitioners, we offer four nationally recognized degree programs:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Social Work<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Master of Social Science (MSS) in Social Work<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Beyond the classroom, the department promotes evidence-based decision-making and innovation through rigorous research. Our faculty members actively mentor a diverse community of postgraduate students, fostering a culture of academic excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n
