Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Chairman of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, I am pleased to welcome you to our department’s website. The department is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and research in the fields of genetic engineering and biotechnology.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology is a specialized academic department that focuses on the study and application of genetic engineering and biotechnology. The department plays a critical role in advancing scientific knowledge, driving innovation in these rapidly advancing fields and guiding future generations to be skilled researchers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our faculty members are experts in their respective fields and are committed to providing our students with a world-class education. We offer undergraduate (B.Sc.), graduate (M.S.) and PhD programs that are designed to prepare our students for successful careers in academia, industry, and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our research activities are focused on advancing knowledge and developing new methods that have the potential to transform healthcare, agriculture, and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our research projects are supported by state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, collaborated and funded by our university, different institutions, organizations, and the government. This enables us to tackle complex scientific challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Md Asadul Islam<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Md. Asadul Islam is a Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Rajshahi. He obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Botany and M.Sc. in Genetics from the University of Rajshahi, and earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, in 2009. He also served as a Senior Scholar at the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement and the National Center of Plant Gene Research, Huazhong Agricultural University.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Dr. Islam began his academic career as a Lecturer in Genetics and Breeding in 2001 and joined the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in 2004 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and has been serving as Professor since 2014. His research interests encompass Biometrical Genetics, Biostatistics, Plant Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Bioinformatics, with particular emphasis on crop improvement, molecular genetics, plant stress biology, microbial biotechnology, and computational biology.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Over the course of his career, Dr. Islam has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters in national and international journals. His recent work includes studies on plant biotechnology, nanobiotechnology, molecular diagnostics, microbial interactions, cancer biomarkers, bioinformatics, and sustainable agricultural systems. Through his research, teaching, and mentorship, he continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of genetic engineering and biotechnology in Bangladesh and beyond.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
