Farewell ceremony of 4^th Batch students

The Rajshahi University Fisheries Association (RUFA) organized a farewell ceremony for the M.S. part-3 students (batch-4), at the Department of Fisheries, University of Rajshahi on June 9, 2011. The programs included representation of address of honour by present students, thanks giving on behalf of RUFA, reminiscence from the ex-students, crest and memoirs distribution to the ex-students. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Fisheries was the chairman of the programs. Among the present guests Dr. M. Manjurul Alam, Associate Professor of Department of Fisheries, express his word of remembrance towards the ex-students. The programme was ended with the concluding remark of the Chairman of the farewell ceremony, Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain. The teachers, students, members of RUFA, the office stuffs of Department of Fisheries were also present at this occasion.

A rally was organized by the Department of Fisheries, University of Rajshahi (RU) on July 27, 2010. The rally was started from the Agriculture Faculty Building and moved throughout the RU campus. RU proctor Prof. Dr. Chowdhury M. Zakaria, teachers and students of the Department of Fisheries participated the rally actively. Prawn seeds were released in pond by the RU proctor at the end of the rally.

In a brief speech, the honorable proctor appreciated the present efforts of the Fisheries department and emphasized on securing animal protein supply through need based research in future. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Fisheries described the success in research of the Fisheries department and explored the contributions of fisheries sector in Bangladesh. In his speech, finally he thanked all to participate this program and wished success for the National Fish Week 2010.
