Introduction

The Department of Economics is one of the oldest departments of Rajshahi University which started its academic programme in 1954. By now, it has become a well-known institution of higher education and its former students have occupied important positions both at home and abroad.

As part of the evening Master’s programme initiated by the Rajshahi University, the Department of Economics is going to start a similar programme with effect from July 1, 2010. The courses will be given by highly experienced and qualified teachers. Since this is an evening programme, it will be particularly suitable for those who are in service as well as for those who would like to earn an additional degree to advance their career.

The cost of the programme has been kept to a minimum to make it affordable. The students will be admitted on merit and it is expected to be highly competitive.
